Secondary Schools Committee

Purpose is to  identify issues of concern to licensed athletic trainers in this setting and to suggest/formulate solutions pertaining to these issues along with the Executive Committee.

Iowa Department of Public Health Concussion Data Collection

IATS has partnered with the Iowa Department of Public Health to collect concussion data in grades 7-12 in the state of Iowa. We are in need of ATs who work in the secondary school setting to help submit concussion information. The IDPH has received a grant to provide money to ATs who participate. 

If you are interested in participating, please email IATS President, Vic Miller.

 

Expectation and requirements:

  • Work as a Certified Athletic Trainer in the high school and/or middle school setting (grades 7-12) in Iowa

  • Fill out an online survey for each concussion occurred in athletic activity at your school (~5mins to complete)

  • Provide feedback on ways to improve data collection to IDPH and IATS
