IATS- PERC Grant Application

Deadline for Submission: Rolling (August 1-April 10th)

Research Proposal:

The IATS Professional Education and Research Committee invites grant proposals from clinicians, faculty, or students focusing on improving the Athletic Training Profession. Investigators are encouraged to submit proposals that advance the practice or science of Athletic Training in areas delineated by the domains of athletic training or areas that advance Athletic Training Education in professional or post-professional programs. Proposals should be developed to conclude within a year from the receipt of the Research Grant. Proposals will be evaluated based on their impact or significance on or in athletic training, scientific merit, and overall quality. Grants will be awarded in accordance to review for merit. The number of grants awarded will be dependent on the projects submitted and support provided by the IATS Executive Committee. Individual Research Grants will not exceed $1,000.

Investigators:

The Principal Investigator must be a member of IATS AND a certified athletic trainer or a student in a professional or post-professional athletic training program whose research mentor is a certified athletic trainer.

Funds:

Each individual award will vary according to the financial support from the IATS Executive Committee. Funds will only be dispersed to an institution and not to an individual. Funds are to be used for items required for the completion of the study (equipment, surveys, statistical data collection, or perishable materials). Funds are non-renewable and only available for the proposed project. Funds are not available for salary supplementation or indirect costs of administrative assistants or facilities at the investigators’ institution. The award recipients are expected to provide a final report to the IATS Professional Education and Research Committee or present findings at a future IATS Annual Meeting within 1 calendar year of receiving funding.
