2013 IATS Summer Clinical Symposium and Business Meeting
The Iowa Athletic Trainers’ Society Annual Summer Meeting and Scholarship Fund Raiser will be held on June 1-2nd in Dubuque, IA. Information on all events for the weekend is listed below. If you are golfing, please note that registration for the Golfing for Scholars Outing is separate from the annual meeting registration.

Golfing for Scholars Outing – Lacoma Golf Course, East Dubuque, IL
The annual IATS Golfing for Scholars Outing be will be at Lacoma Golf Club in East Dubuque, Illinois. This fun event helps raise money for the several IATS undergraduate and graduate scholarships annually.
Tee-off: 12:00p

Event entry fee is $45 (includes green fees and cart for 18 holes and a sleeve of balls). Golf will be a Ryder Cup format (alternate shot on front nine, best ball on back nine) and a shotgun start. Groups will be coordinated upon arrival to accommodate requests. Prizes available for longest drive, closest to pin, longest putt, shortest drive used, and closest to pin on second shot.
IATS Evening Social – Lacoma Golf Course, East Dubuque, IL
A fun evening and gathering for IATS members and their guests. There will be a meal and some beverages provided.
Start time: After golf, ~5pm

The IATS Annual Meeting will once again feature concurrent educational sessions for licensed health care professionals as well as athletic training students. Registration fees will cover the cost of the meeting, CEUs, and a lunch buffet for the Honors and Awards Luncheon and IATS Business Meeting.

8:10-9:00a – Sakiko Oyama, PhD, Researcher, University of Texas – San Antonio. Earned doctorate from The University of North Carolina with research focusing on etiology of upper extremity injuries.
9:05-10:00a – Michael McCrea, PhD, Neurologist, Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI. Dr. McCrea has been an active researcher in the neurosciences, with numerous scientific publications, book chapters, and national and international lectures on the topic of traumatic brain injury. He authored the text Mild Traumatic Brain Injury and Post-concussion Syndroms: The New Evidence Base for Diagnosis and Treatment, published by Oxford University Press. He is a member of the United States Department of Defense Health Board External Advisory Committee on Traumatic Brain Injury, advising the Office of the Secretary of Defense on management and research of military related traumatic brain injury.
