IATS President-Elect and Treasurer Elected

Eric Knudson was voted as President Elect and Frank Neu was named IATS Treasurer

Elections for IATS President-Elect and Treasurer were completed in February.  Eric Knudson was named President-Elect and Frank Neu Treasurer.  Information regarding both candidates are included below.  Election winners will assume their new positions at the IATS business meeting held in conjunction with the Mid America Athletic Trainers Association Meeting and Educational Symposia in Columbia, MO, March 27th and 28th, 2010

President-Elect Candidate Information

Eric Knudson, MS ATC LAT

Eric Knudson is currently working as a Certified Athletic Trainer and Health Educator at Bettendorf High School.  In addition to these responsibilities, Eric is also the current Executive Treasurer for the IATS, and is involved with data collection and entry for the Iowa Mississippi Athletic Conference High School Football Injury Study.  Previously, Eric has been involved in the IATS as the Secondary Schools Committee Chair and has spearheaded the development and coordination of the 2008 IATS Summer Symposium.  Eric has earned degrees in Health Education, Sports Medicine/Athletic Training, and Coaching from the University of Northern Iowa.  In 2008, Eric completed his masters in Sports Management from Western Illinois University.  Eric resides in Bettendorf Iowa, with his wife Jesse and his three year old son Elliot.
 

IATS Treasurer Candidate Information

Frank Neu, MS ATC LAT

Frank Neu is in his fifth year at Drake University.   His current responsibilities at Drake include women’s basketball and softball.  He is also in charge of inventory and ordering supplies and the Drug Education program at Drake. Before coming to Drake in 2004, Frank was the head athletic trainer at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., for eight years.  During his tenure at Lycoming, he supervised the athletic training needs for 400 student-athletes across 19 sports.  I has also served as one of the athletic trainers for the U.S. Aztec Bowl Team for nine years.  Frank is a  1991 graduate of Central College (Iowa) with a degree in physical education.  He has a master's degree in higher education administration from Drake.  Frank currently resides in West Des Moines with his wife Stacey and their children, Danielle and Ryan.
