IATS Awards Undergraduate Scholarships

The Iowa Athletic Trainers' Society awarded two Undergraduate Scholarships at the 2012 Clinical Symposium.

Jennifer Herrick is currently attending Upper Iowa University in Fayette.  She anticipates completing her degree in May 2013.  She is originally from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  She has been a member of the Upper Iowa Athletic Training Education Program for the past three years.  Along with pursuing her athletic training degree, she also is a member of the Peacock women's basketball team serving as captain this past season.  Herrick is the President of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  She serves a student ambassador, summer orientation assistant, and is a member of the athletics committee.  Jennifer has volunteered for the Special Olympics as well as participated in community service such as roadside cleamup and Fayette Appreciation Day.  Upon graduation, she desires to continue her career in athletic training as a graduate assistant. 

 

Carly  Jones recently completed her junior year at Iowa State University.  She is originally from Orland Park, Illinois.  She will be entering her third year in the Iowa State Athletic Training Education Program.  This upcoming year she will be assisting with the coverage of Women's Soccer.  She will also serve as the Vice President of the Iowa State Fellowship of Athletic Training Club.  Upon graduation, Jones plans to attend graduate school for an advanced degree in Athletic Training.  Eventually, she desires to work and instruct at a College or University that has an Athletic Training Education Program.
